On September 10 of this year, the first international media forum in the field of anti-corruption was held in our capital.

This prestigious forum was organized by the Anti-Corruption Agency based on an initiative proposed by our President at the award ceremony for the high international anti-corruption award, which took place last year in Uzbekistan. The forum was organized in cooperation with the UN Development Programme, the European Union delegation in Uzbekistan, the German Society for International Cooperation, as well as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Information and Mass Communications Agency under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the National Media Union of Uzbekistan, and the International Press Club.

The forum was attended by local and international journalists and editors of leading media outlets from Latvia, Singapore, the Philippines, Austria, and Central Asian countries, press secretaries from ministries and departments, international experts, and diplomatic corps representatives.

The main goals of the forum were to increase the role of media in the fight against corruption, discuss global and local issues and solutions, develop joint initiatives to increase transparency and accountability in society, strengthen freedom of speech and the protection of journalists, create a platform for debate and exchange of experiences between the media, government bodies, non-governmental organizations, and international organizations, and to outline future plans and new prospects.
